Axel Araño Díaz de la Serna

He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM). He was a member of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores from 2000 through 2006.

He won a scholarship for young creators in the 1990-1991 edition of CONACULTA. He also founded PAR, an office of Architecture and Design, which is dedicated to the implementation of projects and architectural research that he manages nowadays.

From 1984 through 1996, he was associated in several architectural workshops including Alberto Kalach and HOK/Terrazas. Presently, he teaches at the Max Cetto workshop in the Faculty of Architecture at UNAM and at the Universidad Iberoamericana.

He has contributed in several publications about Architecture and Art. His work, individual or collective, has been exhibited in different museums and galleries, and has also been published internationally.

Among his most important projects we find: The Auditorium of the UNAM’s FES Iztacala, The Casa Cruz, The Tlilatl cultural center of the town of Los Reyes, in Mexico City. He is presently involved in a research about the relationship between architecture and public art.
