José Castillo Olea

He is an Architect from the Universidad Iberoamericana, and holds a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Urbanism from the University of Harvard. Founder of ARQUITECTURA 911, S.C.; a practice dedicated to architectural projects and urban design.

His works and writings have been published in magazines like: Praxis Journal, Bomb, Domus, Architectural Record, Architecture, Arquine and El Arqa, he is part of the editorial council of these last two.

He has taught and offered conferences at different institutions in Mexico and abroad, and is professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and in the University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America.

He participated as curator at different exhibits which include: Mexico City Dialogues at the Center for Architecture of New York in 2005, as part of Mexico’s participation at the 2nd Biennial of Architecture of Rotterdam, at the Sao Paulo’s Biennial of Architecture in 2005, as in Universidad Iberoamericana’s participation at the Venice’s Biennial in 2006, and at the Canarias’ Biennial in 2007.
